Anadi Martel

President, ILA

Bio: After acquiring a solid scientific training through graduate studies in Physics, Anadi Martel went on to live in an ashram in India for a few years. Since then, he has been applying his intimate knowledge of electronics to the development of instruments working in novel ways with sound, light, and brainwaves. His Spatial Sound Processors have been used worldwide by professionals in psychoacoustics, multimedia and cinema, by organizations as diverse as NASA and IMAX. His work has led to patents in the field of Light Modulation and in LED-based design. When not travelling as a design consultant for special audiovisual projects, he can mostly be found in his lab in the Canadian forest, working to refine the Sensora, a multi-sensorial environment combining a number of his inventions. An open-ended research project now ongoing for 30 years, the Sensora explores the overlapping frontiers of art, technology, therapy and consciousness. Anadi Martel is principal of Sensortech Inc. (www.sensora.com), and since 2011 has also been president of the International Light Association. His book “The Power of Light – The dawn of a new medicine” will shortly be available in English.

Deborah Burnett

Registered Interior Designer, Licensed General Contractor, Benya Burnett Consultancy, American Academy of Sleep Medicine

Bio: Deborah Burnett is an internationally recognized registered interior designer, licensed general contractor and engaging keynote presenter. A member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, she is a leading authority in the practice of Epigenetic Design which targets the connection between human health and built environmental light. She is principal and partner at Benya Burnett Consultancy.

Detlef Schikora

Prof, Univ of Paderborn

Bio: Born 1958 in Eilsleben, Germany, studied physics and medicine at Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany. University lecturer since 1994. Head of the biophysics research group in the Faculty of Science, Paderborn University, Germany. 144 original scientific papers published. Inventor in 1999 of the painless Laserneedle-acupuncture technology. Co-Author (together with Prof.Dr.G. Litscher) of the compendium “Laserneedle-Acupuncture: Science and Practice”, Pabst Science Publishers, Lengerich, 2004. Author of the "Laserneedle Therapy Handbook", laneg Publishers Berlin, 2012. Awarded together with Prof.Dr.G.Litscher) with the “1st International Research Award” 2004 of the Medical Acupuncture Research Foundation (MARF) and the American Association of Medical Acupuncture (AAMA) of the United States of America. Board member of the “German-Chinese Research Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine“ . Inventor of a new photo medical treatment procedure " mitochondrial excitation due to lowering of light absorption = medlouxx " in 2012. President since 2015 of the European Photomedical Society (EPS)

Edward Kondrot

Owner, Healing the Eye and Wellness

Bio: Dr. Edward Kondrot is a board certified ophthalmologist and is also certified in classical homeopathy. He graduated from the Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia in 1977. He completed his ophthalmology training at St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh and the Scheie Eye Institute in Philadelphia in 1981. He has practiced homeopathy since 1990 and received his Diploma from the Hahnemann Homeopathic College in 1996. He is the author of Healing the Eye the Natural Way: Alternative Medicine and Macular Degeneration, and Microcurrent Stimulation: Miracle Eye Cure and The 10 Essentials to Restore Your Sight. He is a contributing author in the Clinician’s Rapid Access Guide to Complementary & Alternative Medicine, Mosby. He also revised the Eye and Vision Chapters in Synthesis, Repertorium Homeopathicum Syntheticum a leading homeopathic textbook. In addition he is the Immediate Past President of the Arizona Homeopathic and Integrative Medical Association and the Clinic Director of the American Homeopathic Medical School in Phoenix and is adjunct professor at Midwestern Medical School and Southwest Naturopathic College. Magda Havas

Associate Professor, Trent University

Bio: Dr. Magda Havas is Associate Professor at Trent University where she teaches and does research on the biological effects of electromagnetic frequencies. Her research is concerned with the biological effects of electromagnetic pollution and the beneficial effects of electrotherapy. Dr. Havas works with people who have developed an intolerance to electromagnetic frequencies generated by our wireless devices and electronic equipment. Many of these people are also light sensitive and react to energy efficient artificial light. She has given more than 300 talks in more than a 20 countries on her research. Dr. Havas has co-edited three books and has published more than 130 articles. Her most recent book, co-authored with Camilla Rees, is Public Health SOS: The Shadow Side of the Wireless Revolution. She serves on both the Scientific Secretariat for the International Commission for Electromagnetic Safety and as science advisor on EMF-related issues to non-profit organizations in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Brussels, the Netherlands, and South Africa.

Yiannis Ladopoulos

Bio: CEO, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology ΜΑ in Lighting Design – Architectural lighting and Design management Ioannis Ladopoulos is cofounder and partner of MEP Consulting Company “Dektis Consultant Engineers SA”. He has a vast experience of over 16 years in the field. He specializes in Electrical Engineering aspects, Lighting Design and Energy Saving Issues. As a Lighting Designer he has worked in a series of Projects in Greece, Cyprus, KSA, Jordan, UAE, Oman, France and other countries including Hotels, Healthcare Facilities, Museums, Landscape Lighting Projects, Office Buildings, Luxurious Residences etc. As a member of the IALD Regulatory Affairs Working Group he has participated in the development of position papers and workshops with most active role in the formulation of the latest White Paper regarding Lighting Design, Quality of Light, Wellbeing and Health.

James Oschman

President, Nature's Own Research Association

Bio: Jim Oschman is an internationally recognized expert on the scientific basis for Energetic/Matrix Medicine. He has contributed scientific perspectives that clarify controversial issues such as the nature of biological energetics and energetic therapeutics. He has also written extensively on electromagnetic pollution, the mechanisms by which it can produce biological effects, and what can be done about it. Jim has written several popular books on the scientific basis of energy/matrix medicine. He has also written about 120 articles in some of the leading peer-reviewed scientific journals as well as in leading journals on alternative medicine. He has contributed chapters and forwards for many books. Jim provides diverse and multi-disciplinary perspectives based on a variety of types of scientific research and personal experiences. Julianne Bien

Founder, Spectrahue Light & Sound Inc.

Bio: Julianne Bien is the inventor of the Spectrahue method of light therapy. She owns Spectrahue Light & Sound Inc., a Toronto-based company which distributes its original Lumalight hand-held tools and educational materials, including books, DVDs, and live trainings. Julianne continues to share her knowledge with users at her own trainings and other events and through interviews in the media. She is now widely recognized as an authority in esoteric knowledge and the language of color light and its uses in spiritual and self-awareness pursuits. Lumalights now benefit a professional and home user client base around the globe.

Ray Gottlieb

Dean, College of Syntonic Optometry (CSO)

Bio: Behavioral optometrist, RAY GOTTLIEB, O.D., Ph.D., has been Dean of the College of Syntonic Optometry (CSO) since 1984. He began his syntonic career in 1975 applying light frequencies for vision problems and has taught and written about clinical and scientific developments in light therapy for nearly 25 years. In 1980 he founded the world’s first Eye Gym offering light and vision therapy. From 1984 to 1991 he was the research editor for Brain/Mind Bulletin. In the late 1980’s he conceived an optical theory of brain function, “The Phase-conjugate Optical Brain,” a model based on self-focusing light as the basis for information and communication in biological systems. His Ph.D. dissertation (A Neuropsychology of Nearsightedness, 1977) described a neuropsychological model of cause and remediation of myopia. In 1976 he invented an eye exercise to prevent and reverse presbyopia known as the Read Without Glasses Method. In 2011, Gottlieb retired from optometry practice, moved to Florida and now dedicates his time to researching, writing and lecturing about phototherapy, attention and memory training, presbyopia, eye exercises and anti-aging. At the Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival he trains pianists to improve their attention, memory and learning skills.

Dee Newbold

Acupuncture Medical and Research Centre

Bio: Within the last ten years Dee Ann Newbold, acupuncturist, has done extensive study in the use of color therapies on humans to help with mitigation of health conditions. Ms. Newbold has served as a Board Member on the Texas State Board of Acupuncture Examiners, under the Texas Medical Board, as a general Board Member, Continuing Education Chair, Ethics Committee Member, 1999-2005. Ms. Newbold’s mission is to provide pain free, professional care to her clients in the greater Austin Texas area. She runs the Acupuncture Medical and Research Centre and has been providing acupuncture full time for 29 years. She was recently requested to speak in May, 2015 at the 2nd Annual High-Tech Acupuncture Congress in Hangzhou, China on her primary topic of interest: The Blending of Acupuncture and Color Therapy. Ms. Newbold is working on her book: Acu-Color, The Blending of Acupuncture and Color Therapy, set for publication in 2017.

Dr. Larry Wallace

College of Syntonic Optometry

Bio: Larry B. Wallace. O.D. Ph.D. is a behavioral optometrist who has practiced for over 40 years in Ithaca, NY. He is past President of the International Light Association. He also is past President and current education director for the College of Syntonic Optometry, an organization dedicated to education and research in the field of light and color therapy. He is a certified low vision specialist in New York, and has worked extensively throughout the state in the field of vision rehabilitation for head trauma and brain injury. He invented and patented the first micro-current device in the USA to treat macular degeneration and retinal disease. He has published numerous articles, conducted research, and lectured around the world on vision therapy and neuro-rehabilitation. Gary Buchanan

Bio: Rev. Leona Vermeire


Bio: In 1986 Leona founded the company Rainbow-Flash cvba to import and spread the LUMATRON syntonic device to Europe, and throughout the thirty years since has been organizing seminars and giving lectures on colour light therapy – her passion. In the year 2000 Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt suggested different options by adding to Dr. John Searfoss’ idea of using narrowband filters and halogen bulbs to create the new PhotonWave. This device, now the core of Leona’s practice, has vastly expanded the therapeutic range of light administered through the eyes. Leona is the recipient of the ILA’s 2013 Frances McManemin Light Award. She feels she has a mission to spread this wonderful technique, and it has been her absolute goal to make sure that every child, every person could have the opportunity to “shine” and to use his/her inner power!

Manohar Croke

U.S. Esogetic Colorpuncture Institute

Bio: Manohar Croke, M.A., Dipl. ECP, is a clinician, teacher and Director of the U.S. Esogetic Colorpuncture Institute. Educated in transpersonal psychology, trauma resolution, meditation and mindfulness, she also holds a Diploma of Esogetic Holistic Medicine and since 1989 has studied personally with the originator of Esogetic ColorpunctureTM acu-light therapy, Peter Mandel. Bio: After more than 26 years in business operations (engineering and management), I took a career change into lighting. I went back to University, I completed a part-time Graduate Certificate Degree in Australia, and then a Multidisciplinary Masters Degree and a PhD in the USA (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, NY). I have had a unique opportunity to conduct my lighting research at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC with real clinicians. I plan to continue working and doing research in lighting at Mount Sinai Health System. My goal is to contribute to the improvement of our wellness and of the healthcare system with the proper use of light and lighting.

Steven Vazquez

Bio: Dr Pascal Vidal, born in Madrid (Spain), is a medical doctor, homeopath, acupuncturist, and auriculotherapist, and has been studying photonomedicine, with Dr Pierre Magnin since 2011. Together with Dr. Magnin, Dr. Vidal is the co-author of the book La médecine photonique. Not only is photonmedicine an intellectual passion for Dr. Vidal, but also a treatment modality he employs daily with his patients.

Jacob Liberman

Bio: Dr. Jacob Liberman is a pioneer in the fields of light, vision, and consciousness, and author of Light: Medicine of the Future, Take Off Your Glasses and See and Wisdom From an Empty Mind. He has shared his discoveries and insights with more than 2,000 audiences worldwide, and has been endorsed by luminaries in the fields of health, science and spirituality including Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra and Bruce Lipton. Masako Shimizu

Bio: Masako Shimizu gained her license as a colour therapist in 1998 and since then has been actively involved in treatment and counseling of clients with stress-induced conditions, advising companies on office decor to optimize worker satisfaction and productivity, and developing products and protocols. Masako serves on the Board of the Japan Association of Color Therapists and is a force in training, education and research in the field.
