Cynthia Ludwig

Director, Technical Director, AOCS

Bio: Ludwig joined AOCS in 2014. Cynthia has a diverse background and long career as a research scientist. She started her journey as a large scale production and analytical chemist at Sigma-Aldrich in St. Louis, MO. After five years, she joined Monsanto where she spent the next 20 years contributing to over 20 patents, receiving numerous awards and developing new products and technologies. Roundup® production, Celebrex®, Bextra®, Paracoxib, and Decisive and Chipping Technologies are a few of the projects she influenced. Her degrees include a BS in Organic Chemistry from Southern Illinois University (US) and an MS in Physical Organic Chemistry from Eastern Illinois University (US).

Bio: B.S. in Molecular Biology Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from the State University of New York at Buffalo

Todd Dalotto

Director of Horticulture, Oregon Sun Farms

Bio: Todd Dalotto is a cannabis industry consultant, horticultural scientist, public policy advisor, and expert witness specializing in medicinal cannabis.  He earned a horticultural research degree from Oregon State University, is Chair of the Oregon Health Authority’s Advisory Committee on Medical Marijuana, chairs the ACMM’s Horticulture, Research & Safety Committee, and helped draft the regulations for Oregon’s licensed dispensary law.  Todd founded the first hemp food business in the U.S., authored the world’s first hemp cookbook, and founded Oregon’s first cannabis medical clinic, education & support center.  He is currently president of CAN! Research, Education & Consulting in Corvallis, Oregon, where he innovates and implements protocol for the scientific research of cannabis, teaches, and consults cannabis industry businesses.

Bio: As the editorial head of MMJ Business Daily, Chris Walsh covers daily financial and legal news of interest to cannabis dispensaries, investors, lawyers and related vendors. Walsh is a go-to source for the mainstream media on national industry trends and has been quoted in numerous publications including MarketWatch, USA Today and the Boston Globe. He also led the research team for the Marijuana Business Factbook 2013. Previously, Walsh worked for more than a decade as a business reporter and editor at daily newspapers.

Peter Goodell

Cooperative Extension

Bio: Dr. Goodell, a 3rd generation Californian, has over 40 years of IPM experience including private consulting, research, extension, and education. His focus has been in the San Joaquin Valley of California on field, row and vegetable crops, primarily working with arthropod and nematode pest management. Focused on improving IPM decision support, he has explored pest interactions from the individual pest/plant, to the field, at the farm, to the greater landscape and most recently, at policy levels. He annually participates in 20-25 educational and training programs for pest control advisors and farmers. He has over 340 publications to his credit. He served with UC Statewide IPM Program for his entire career in various capacities including IPM Advisor, Extension Coordinator, Interim Director and Associate Director for IPM in Ag.
