Bernardo Nunes

Bio: Bernardo Nunes is an enthusiast of the combination of behavioural design, data analytics, and digital innovations to improve consumer behaviour and its financial situation. He has helped regulatory bodies and private companies get insights from their data and to transform them into empirically-informed decisions.

Chryssa Stefanidou

Behavioral Psychologist, Behavioral Psychologist

Bio: Behavioral Scientist specialized in social psychological experimentation and digital environments

Ezequiel Galarce

Behavioral Scientist, Rally Health

Bio: Ezequiel Galarce’s work is focused in narrowing the existing gap between people’s best health intentions and their actual behavior. After working over a decade in basic behavioral research, he is now working at Rally Health where he helps build mobile and web products aimed at helping people stick to their long-term intentions. First trained as a clinical psychologist, and later as a behavioral neuroscientist, Ezequiel’s current work at Rally Health aims at removing the barriers inherent to the here and now to favoring long- over short-term goals.

John Burkhardt

Neuroscientist, i-Motions A/S

Bio: Dr. John M. Burkhardt is a neuroscience specialist for iMotions A/S, a software company specializing in biometric research, and the founder of Capita Neuro, a thinktank for the application of neuroscience in the business space. He has also served as a managing partner of the Vitruvian Group, a boutique management consultancy. Prior to entering the private sector, he was a professor of neuroscience, having served on the faculty at the University of Oslo in Oslo, Norway, the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown in Lisbon, Portugal, and the National Institutes of Health in Washington, DC. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and his Ph.D. from Wake Forest University. Dr. Burkhardt specializes in developing customized assessments and interventions to create specific behavioral outcomes. He currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.

Jason Donohue

Principal - Healthcare Practice Lead, i-propeller

Bio: Jason joined i-propeller in 2010 and has since advised numerous businesses in their development and execution of shared value strategies. He is specialised in co-creating and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to bring innovative ‘shared value’ solutions to market. His work has focused on innovative solutions to help clients overcome behavioural barriers to take-up, use, and understanding of their product and/or service portfolio.

Jez Groom

Founder, Chief Choice Architect, Cowry Consulting

Bio: In 2016 Jez founded his own behavioural economics consultancy, working with a great team of psychologists and mathematicians – Ziba, Raphy, Rickard, Pippa and Andy. In just 15 months the team are working with FTSE 100 companies such as Tesco, Aegon, Sky, Fidelity Investments, TSB and EDF Energy. Prior to Cowry, Jez was the Co-Founder of #ogilvychange and instrumental in building this practice around the world in ten cities and working with clients such as BA, AMEX, Diageo, Nestle and Coca Cola.

Koen Smets

General Manager, The Altered Chord Management Consultants

Bio: Koen started his career as a hardware and software development engineer, but has been an Organization Development specialist for over 20 years. He has worked in the private sector, with companies like Philips and DSM, as well as with public sector organizations such as regulators, the UK government and the European Commission. Fascinated by the ability of humans to behave in ways that escape conventional organizational approaches, he began to explore the use of behavioural economics. For several years now, Koen has been using insights from BE to help his clients improve their organization’s effectiveness and successfully implement change.

Rick Lehman

Finance Instructor, UC Berkeley

Bio: Rick’s career spans more than thirty-five years in the financial industry and includes prominent investment firms, financial data firms, The NYSE, a bank, an independent investment advisory, and a start-up that pioneered on-demand reports on US and international companies. Rick has particular expertise in options and behavioral finance, having published three books on these subjects, and currently teaches Behavioral Finance at both UC Berkeley and Golden Gate University. In addition, he runs the annual San Francisco Behavioral Finance Symposium.
