Chief Operations Officer, Citrus Research and Development Foundation
Bio: Dr. Harold Browning received his PhD in Entomology with a minor in Plant Pathology from the University of California, Riverside in 1981. He accepted a faculty position with Texas A&M University, and conducted research on Integrated Pest Management of citrus, vegetables and sugarcane in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Dr. Browning joined the faculty of the University of Florida in 1988, locating to the Institute of Food and Citrus Research and Education Center (CREC), Lake Alfred where he focused on integrating biological control with other pest management strategies. In 1996, he was named Center Director and coordinator of citrus programs for IFAS, and held this position until Spring, 2010. Dr. Browning was named Distinguished Professor at the Citrus Research and Education Center in 2009. In June, 2011, Browning accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer of the Citrus Research and Development Foundation, where he provides leadership to the Board of Directors in pursuit of HLB solutions on behalf of the Florida industry.

Bio: As vice president for science and regulatory affairs, Jack is responsible for representing the beverage industry by advocating for sound science on nutrition, ingredient and product safety in regulatory policy settings.
Jack held previous positions at the American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI), Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), Human Genome Sciences, Inc. (HGSI) and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).
Jack earned her doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology from The Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Canada’s Carleton University. Jack lives in Alexandria, Va., with her husband and three children.

Bio: Michelle Parikh is an independent packaging consultant to the food and beverage industry. She specializes in selection, evaluation and testing of packaging materials, as well as root cause analysis of package failures. She has assisted bottlers in failure analysis and in the selection of processes and packages to meet their customer's needs.
Her career has encompassed the scope of beverage packaging. Michelle has worked from the formulation of crown liner compound, to aluminum can testing and development and to package qualification, failure analysis and resolution for glass, plastic, film, jugs, and drums.

Bio: Responsible for strategic marketing and planning to support the global initiatives of the family of PTI companies. Built a significant global public profile of a small engineering driven company. Created and managed Marketing budgets for the family of PTI’s company’s (4 in all). Actively managed internal external resources from web designers to public relation agencies. Served as the managing director “The Packaging Conference” for 9 years, 250 attendees and annual revenue of over $100,000. Organized and executed tradeshows and conferences and have been able to calculate the ROI on this investment and a justification to participate. Have been an active member of the Society of Plastics Engineers and served in a number of officer positions in the Blow Molding and the Flexible Packaging Divisions. Served as Secretary, Chair-elect and Chairman and now serves on the board as Honored Service member. Served as the President of the International Society of Beverage Technologists (ISBT). Recognition as a Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) via the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IOPP).
