With Opening Remarks by Corpsmember of the Year - Trevor Taylor, Southwest Conservation Corps
Facing concurrent and co-dependent crises, stifling levels of inequality, and shifting power structures, it is evident that our nation and our movement is standing at the precipice of something new. The decisions we make today will have a lasting impact on future generations, especially in the realms of racial equity, community resilience, and the fight to combat climate change. As we move ahead, what realities should we ground ourselves in and to what future vision should we aspire? To open our 2021 National Conference, we will hear from the leadership of the Corps movement and our keynote speaker Michael McAfee, CEO of PolicyLink, about the values and histories we should carry with us into this new era. We will also take time to celebrate our Corpsmembers and Projects of the Year and the great work Corps’ accomplished during a particularly difficult year.
