HUD encourages PHAs to reposition their portfolios to unlock the value of their assets, preserve quality housing and redevelop aging properties. Through comprehensive financial and facility master planning, PHAs can engage stakeholders to benefit from favorable capital markets, tax credits, opportunity zones, the HUD Mortgage Insurance Program, charitable donations and public private partnerships to recapitalize and modernize legacy properties, or build new communities that improve the quality of life for residents. While repositioning can appear daunting, if approached thoughtfully, it holds great promise for PHA's to ensure their future and to sustain vital housing support to their communities. This session will offer practical lessons learned from Nashville's ongoing portfolio repositioning of MDHA's housing. This session is for all attendees.
