Opportunities to Improve Public Policy in Kansas
Friday, November 6
11:20 am - 11:50 am

Public policy affects every aspect of our lives, including our health and oral health, and everyone has a role to play in improving oral health policy. For over 20 years, Dr. Stuart J. Little has worked in state government and assisted organizations such as Oral Health Kansas in advocating for sound public health policy change at the Kansas Legislature. Dr. Little will discuss policy and politics in Kansas and how oral health is a part of the conversation to ensure all Kansans are healthy. He will share insight about how everyone can have a say in oral health public policy.

Learning objectives:

  • Explore methods to engage policymakers in oral health and health policy discussions.
  • Learn how policymakers are improving access to oral health in other states.
  • Understand current political realities that affect our ability to make progress on dental issues such as comprehensive Medicaid
