Speaker

  • Maria Koniuck (Speaker) Sergeant, Winnipeg Police Service Counter Exploitation and Missing Person’s Unit

Description

Provide law enforcement attendees with methods deployed by the Winnipeg Police Service as a means of detecting youth prostitution and persons that try to exploit them.  Many organizations may have limited resources, but the opportunity to conduct projects may not be out of your agency’s grasp to try.  I will also provide what worked and what didn’t for us in our trial and error, so you can learn from our mistakes.

Three Objectives or Takeaway Ideas:

  1. How to conduct projects with limited resources
  2. Working with partner agencies
  3. The importance of technological evidence and keeping current
