  • John Bones (Speaker) SKUP
  • Alastair Otter (Speaker) IT Coordinator, GLOBAL INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM NETWORK
  • Giannina Segnini (Speaker) Director of the Master of Science Data Journalism Program, Columbia University

This session will look at a range of the best data journalism and visualisation projects from around the world, including developing nations from the past year. Data Journalism and visualisation in many of these regions is still very much in its infancy and often faces social and financial constraints that push journalists to adopt a different approach to their work than their colleagues in more developed markets. The session will look at some of these constraints and limitations and the work that is created out of them and also opportunities for data projects in countries or jurisdictions with less access to information.
