Room 2 - Detecting Contract Cheating Using Investigative Linguistics
2:00 PM - 2:45 PM
Mon Mar 1, 2021

Contract cheating may be comparable to deceptions such as fake online review writing in that both use professional writers recruited through third-party websites. This research deploys investigative linguistic techniques used in the detection of fake news and fake online reviews to build a linguistic contract cheating detection model which can aid assessors when grading assignments.

The session will present these findings as well as give delegates an opportunity to  test their cheating detection skills on a selection of commercial and student essays.
