In 2020, the High School Cybersecurity Curriculum Guidelines (HSCCG) were used to support high school courses, teacher professional development, and the development of instructional materials. These guidelines were created to encourage curriculum providers, teachers, and industry to create curriculum designed to inspire high school students to pursue a profession in cybersecurity, as well as develop thinkers with a cybersecurity mindset that will enhance any profession they pursue. Based on eight Big Ideas from the HSCCG, the goal is to assist high school educators to create rigorous academic programs that increase career awareness and stimulate innovative educational approaches as outlined in the National K12 Cybersecurity Education Implementation Plan. This talk will share our experiences and educational resources to explore and adopt lesson plan ideas based on the HSCCG. Resources include the Planning and Pacing Guides that show teachers three variations of a course based on the CCG, lesson plan outlines, and more.
