"Code for the Planet", a challenge to engage children in the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Wednesday, July 19
11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Lecture room 2

#SuperCoders is an initiative by Orange for 9-13 year-olds currently run in 20 countries. The aim is to make children more aware of digital culture by offering them an easy and fun introduction to computer coding.

Beyond these coding workshops, #SuperCoders invites children to create games and animations in order to raise awareness about environmental protection. This challenge, open to girls and boys aged 6 to 16, took place in 2015 during COP21 and in 2016 during COP22.

Orange now develops with Magic Makers a new challenge based on the UN Sustainable Goals to further engage children in making the planet a better place for all. Our aim is to use coding and the digital tools to encourage children in becoming active citizen of the world of tomorrow. This new pedagogical tool will be presented at the conference in Bordeaux and tested during an hackathon at Cap Sciences.
