  • The 65+ population is truly diverse with a wide variety of skills, needs and desires. It is becoming the biggest and most powerful segment of the economy. Implementing an “Equity for All” strategy by providing  alternatives and opportunities that actually meet their needs is the wave of the future.
  • Ageism is rampant in our society. Conscious and unconscious bias is everywhere. Covid-19 has exacerbated the problems and the issues faced by this large segment dramatically: loss of work, social isolation, loneliness and much more have become the norm.
  • It is time to both recognize the tremendous value they represent and the needs we need to address.
  • Isolation and loneliness have become major issues in our “new world”. A key example of one attempt at addressing these issues through technology provides a great example of one aspect of the longevity economy and its’ value.
  • Different segments of the 65+ community represent different opportunities in the longevity economy- 65+ represents both the biggest market opportunity and the largest unaddressed needs.
  • Independence, controlling their own lives and ageing well are the keys to the future and all 65+ need and deserve Equity. “Ageing Proactively” must be the new mantra for all of us.
  • Business opportunities abound in the longevity economy but those 65+ are tired of been told what they need. Building the best future for all requires the involvement of diverse “seniors” in all aspects of the development of products and services. The Longevity Economy is wide open but new products and services must reflect the actual needs and desires of this highly diverse group.
