Dr. Santiago Cruz-RovedaRegional Outreach – Supervisor Project Sponsor Outreach, Federal Railroad Administration
Dr. Santiago Cruz-Roveda is the Project Sponsor Outreach Supervisor for Regional Outreach within the Office of Rail Development at the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). Dr. Cruz-Roveda focuses on passenger rail service, the implementation of the Corridor Identification and Development Program (Corridor ID), Municipal, State DOT, and Tribal outreach efforts throughout the country with FRA. The passenger outreach effort’s includes the development and implementation of the Corridor ID Program that will support long-term passenger rail development in communities across the country. Dr. Cruz-Roveda has over 18 years of experience with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Office of the Secretary of Transportation (OST), and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). Dr. Cruz-Roveda has experience supporting a $12B annual public transportation budget and delivering $16B worth of public transportation projects throughout the United States, including High Speed Rail, Passenger Rail, Metro, Highway, Bus Rapid Transit, Ferry, and Stormwater projects. Prior to his current role, Dr. Cruz-Roveda worked as a West Regional Manager with FRA and acted as the lead project manager for the Brightline West High-Speed Rail (HSR) project, High Desert Corridor HSR project, Los Angeles Basin rail projects, and rail projects throughout the Northwest States.
