Djuro Macut, MD, PhD is Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, Serbia. He was on clinical attachment programs at the University Hospitals in Bologna, Uppsala and Oxford, and completed postgraduate program in Reproductive Medicine from the University of Geneva and World Health Organization. Dr Macut is currently Deputy Director of the Clinic of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases, Clinical Center of Serbia. He is elected representative of the Endocrine Section of the Serbian Medical Association to the ESE and ESE Council of Affiliated Societies (ECAS), member of the ESE Executive Committee (ex oficio) as ECAS representative, member of the ESE Congress Committee, and member of the 19th and 20th ECE Organizing Committee, Lisbon 2017 and Barcelona 2018. Dr Macut was co-chair and chair of the 1st and 2nd International Symposium on Advances in PCOS and Women’s Health, Belgrade 2012 and 2016. He is president of the Organizing Committee of the Frontiers and Innovations in Medicine, the Annual Symposium of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. His fields of interest are reproductive endocrinology, metabolic endocrinology, neuroendocrinology and neuroendocrine tumors. He is author of over 70 original articles and reviews in peer reviewed journals, and held a number of lectures and presentations at international conferences, and co-editor of the book on PCOS from the Karger’s series Frontiers of Hormone Research. He is reviewer for several international journals, and currently serving at the editorial boards of the international journals Hormones, Journal of Endocrinological Investigation, Journal of the Endocrine Society, and Endocrine.
