Rev. Dr. Sarah Bailey
Co-Founder and CEO, Bridges into the Future
Rev. Dr. Sarah Bailey is an Elder of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International and holds a doctorate of Theology. She is a licensed and ordained Chaplain. She has taught religious studies at various Bible Colleges throughout the State of Michigan and she served as a guest faculty member for the American Heart Association. Elder Sarah is the CEO and co-founder of Bridges into the Future, Inc., which is a community based non-profit organization in Flint, MI, that is focused on health promotion and prevention. Elder Sarah has served on multiple boards in the Flint area…and throughout her career, she has been a part of community, local and state government, and academic partnerships (including Michigan State University and the University of Michigan-Flint and Ann Arbor campuses) in addressing substance abuse, cardiovascular diseases, and safe affordable housing in the state of Michigan and the city of Flint and surrounding communities. Elder Sarah has been on the forefront of the Water Crisis, even prior to the decision to switch water sources! She has been an member of numerous research teams! The EPA met with her and other Pastors through the early declaration to develop services to improve the health of residents affected by the tainted water and to keep the community informed! She provided advocacy training to the “Flint Water Warriors”. She has presented at the International Stroke Conference and during Grand Rounds for the University of Michigan Hospital’s Cardiovascular and Neurology Center. She has spoken to many groups, including university faculty and students as well as the Society of General Internal Medicine at its annual conference as a co- presenter with other Physicians dealing with crisis in San Juan and at the U. S. Southern Border and has spoken at the NIH/ NIESH PEPH Conference earlier this year.
