Phillip Steiner, M.A., is an Analyst with the Kansas Health Institute. He provides data analysis and covers issues related to Medicaid, insurance coverage, access to care and market innovation in Kansas. Prior to joining KHI, Phillip was a research analyst at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, where he worked to improve Medicare payment policy in the Medicare Advantage and PACE programs. Phillip holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a bachelor’s degree in economics and history from Rockhurst University.

Oral Health Kansas and the Kansas Health Institute are collaborating on a study to assess the dental insurance status of Kansans. Lead Kansas Health Institute researcher Phillip Steiner will share the details about the number of Kansans with and without dental insurance, sources of dental insurance, and some conclusions about unmet dental needs in Kansas. The study results will help to identify future policy and research implications to continue increasing access to dental care in our state.
