Member, Asian Women for Equality

Suzanne Jay is a member of Asian Women for Equality, a grassroot feminist group based in Canada. Asian Women for Equality works as a progressive force to change societal attitudes towards women, especially women of Asian descent; to advance equality for Asian women; and to create opportunities for Asian women to have meaningful participation and to take leadership roles in civil society. Asian Women's current projects include frontline support to secure "suspensions" of criminal records for prostitution, "dual arrest" in domestic violence and other poverty/racism related crimes targeting women. Suzanne recently co-authored an article about the murders of Asian women “ Prostitution is a Racialized Hate Crime Against Women.
