Kimmo Rossi

Head of Sector "Research and Innovation Execution", European Commission - DG CNECT - Unit G1

Kimmo Rossi works as Head of Sector at unit CNECT.G1 "Data policy and innovation" at the European Commission. He is responsible for designing and implementing technology funding programmes (Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe) at the intersection of Data and AI, and liaising with the Public-Private Partnership Big Data Value. Kimmo holds a M.Sc. degree (1989) from Helsinki University of technology and works at the Commission since 1994. Since 2000, he has been occupying various positions at EUROSTAT and DG INFSO/CNECT, dealing with R&I in language technologies, cognitive systems, statistics, big data and AI.

Description

The goal of this session is to bring together European Data incubators to find complementarities, synergies and to identify ways of collaboration towards the future. This session brings together all the past, ongoing and new data incubators part of the Big Data Value PPP and other related partnerships and initiatives. The session is organised by the BDVe project and EUHubs4Data project and counts with the participation of European Data Incubator, Data Market Services, MediaHub, REACH, and i4TRUST partnership projects.
