Alberto Crespo is currently working at Atos in Spain as Head of Blockchain Identity & Privacy Unit within Atos Research & Innovation, managing a multi-disciplinary information security research team which has been/is involved on several security-related national and European projects (IDENTICA, Segur@, Thofu, PICOS, SEMIRAMIS, MobiGuide, DAPHNE, MoveUS, PACT, PRIPARE, STORK, STORK 2.0, STRATEGIC, FutureID, FIDES, FIDES2, PIME, ABC4EU, SSEDIC, WITDOM, PRISMACLOUD, CREATE-IoT, LIGHTest, ARIES, LEPS, ESMO, SEAL, GRIDS, FENTEC, CREDENTIAL, INFINITECH, DataVaults, BD4OPEM, PAPAYA and Digital Europe For All). He has several years of professional experience in physical and information security projects across Europe which encompass, among others, trust and privacy applied to complex Identity and Access Management projects, credential and access control systems development and analysis (including identity verification solutions based on biometrics applied as well to border control) and consultancy in international standards for the issuance and cross-border use of secure travel and identity documents. He holds a Degree in Computer Science Engineering (Cp.E.) at the Universidad Pontificia of Salamanca in Madrid with Specialisation Profile in Financial Computing and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (among other bicultural qualifications).

Privacy-preserving technologies are being developed to cope with these challenges. This is a hot topic because
The aim of this session is to discuss cutting-edge advances in privacy-preserving technologies and how they foster the use of big data for AI. The session will allow current and recently finished EU projects (BDV PPP and beyond) to present and discuss their use of privacy-preserving technologies to protect data for AI.
