Yannis Theodoridis

Prof. Yannis Theodoridis is faculty member with the Department of Informatics, Director of the Data Science Lab, and Dean of the School of Information and Communication Technologies (2017-21) at the University of Piraeus. Yannis has served, among others, at the editorial board of ACM Computing Surveys (2016-19), general co-chair for SSTD'03 and ECML/PKDD'11 conferences, and PC member for numerous conferences, including SIGMOD, PODS, ICDE, KDD, and ICDM. Yannis’ research interests include Data Science (big data management & analytics) for mobility information; he has co-authored three monographs and more than 100 refereed articles in scientific journals and conferences with over 10,000 citations according to Google Scholar; he has participated as project coordinator or technical manager in a number of EU-funded research projects under H2020 etc. Programmes. Born in 1967, Yannis holds a Dipl. Eng. (1990) and Ph.D. (1996) in Electrical and Computer Engineering, both from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).
