Christine Gent is the MADE51 WFTO Fair Trade Expert. MADE51 is a UNHCR initiative that integrates refugee artisans into Fair Trade supply chains www.MADE51.org and brings beautiful refugee-made products to a global market. Christine is also the Community Director for Fashion Revolution CIC overseeing the internal and external community of the network. Fashion Revolution calls for a global fashion industry that conserves and restores the environment and values people over growth and profit. Trained as a designer Christine specializes in integrating vulnerable producers into supply chains modeled to Fair Trade practice with a focus mainly on Asia. Christine was previously Executive Director of WFTO Asia based in Thailand. Her experience includes working with: commercial companies, including Ethical Trade Development Manager at The Body Shop, Fair Trade, and Social Enterprises, charities, and UN organisations. Christine is currently on the Board of or People Tree Fair Trade Group (UK and Japan). A strong supporter of Fair Trade, previously co-organized the Fair Trade International Symposiums in Liverpool, Milan, and Portsmouth. Christine is also active in her local community and is a member of local green and circular economy groups, co-founder of the FAIR shop, and actively campaigned with and has chaired the Brighton Fair Trade Town steering group.
