Shaista Malik

Shaista Malik is an expert in media Research, Communication and Outreach with specialisation in Advocacy, Campaigning, Media work, Networking/Alliance building and Capacity Building. Currently she is doing her doctorate in media and communication studies at Goldsmiths University of London, United Kingdom. She has been working as Research Director at Journalists for Democracy and Human Rights (JDHR) Pakistan (www.jdhr.org) since 2003. She has conducted a number of research studies. Her recent study was on “Content Analysis of Religious Publications” in Pakistan, which has been published in Journal of Contemporary Studies, Summer 2018, Pakistan.

Shaista Malik and Salman Danish will explore constraints to investigative reporting in the FATA region, including security threats from non-state actors, such as Taliban leadership and threats from state actors such as government institutions.
