Bio

Dr. Alan Long is Administrative Director, Southern Fire Exchange and Professor Emeritus, School of Forest Resources and Conservation, University of Florida. His teaching, extension and research activities included fire ecology and management, fire in the wildland-urban interface and continuing education for professionals. He served as statewide coordinator for forestry extension and chaired the Florida SAF-SFRC Spring Symposium for many years. He currently works with Tall Timbers Research Station and the Southern Fire Exchange, a Joint Fire Science Program regional consortium for fire science and technology transfer.
