Tyrone Howard is the author of compelling books including All Students Must Thrive: Transforming Schools to Combat Toxic Stressors and Cultivate Critical Wellness (2019); Expanding College Access for Urban Youth: What Schools and Colleges Can Do (2016) and Why race and culture matters in schools: Closing the achievement gap in America’s classrooms. (2010). His research examines culture, race, teaching, and learning. He was the recipient of the 2015 UCLA Distinguished Teaching Award, and in 2016 and 2017, Dr. Howard was listed by Education Week as one of the 60 most influential scholars in the nation informing educational policy, practice, and reform.
