Description

Deleon Dyson is an Operations director and Executive director for local nonprofits. Deleon currently holds a B.A. in Communications minor in economics from Western Michigan University and an M.A. in Communications, from Western Michigan University and pursuing a PH.d in interdisciplinary health sciences. My research centers on healthcare communication, and I am interested in human-machine communication and computer-mediated communication. I explore the barriers related to infant mortality rates in black mothers in the Kalamazoo area. My passion is to find a way to help reduce communication barriers between doctors and black mothers in hopes that this can contribute to reduced infant mortality and black mothers' morbidity rates.
