Nyesha Motley has served as the 2-1-1 Resource Directory Manager at United Way for Southeastern Michigan for nearly three years. Nyesha and her team are responsible for overseeing an online comprehensive directory of over 1,500 community services and programs serving multiple counties in southeastern Michigan, ensuring that individuals and families in need have access to essential services and support. In her role, she oversees a team of five Resource Directory Specialists who play a crucial role in maintaining and expanding MI 2-1-1's online database of community resources. The Specialists are able to achieve this by completing annual updates with each community partner ensuring that the resource directory remains up-to-date, accurate and timely information to those seeking assistance. Besides maintaining and updating the resource database, the Resource Directory Team actively build relationships with local community organizations to educate others on how to access the database and offer support on how to increase their impact in the community. Working in conjunction with our Call Center team who connects directly with community members, the Resource Directory team works behind the scenes to curate and maintain the online directory helping to connect people with critical resources and support in their time of need.
