Jennie Joseph Health
Jennie Joseph is a distinguished health advocate and British-trained midwife renowned for her contributions to maternal health, particularly in promoting healthy pregnancies, deliveries, and postpartum care for women and newborns. As the founder of Commonsense Childbirth Inc. and the creator of The JJ Way®, she champions systemic reform in the healthcare industry, prioritizing the needs of families over profit. Her innovative methodologies have significantly improved birth outcomes, especially in underserved areas she terms 'materno-toxic zones.' With extensive experience across European and American healthcare settings, Jennie has played a pivotal role in midwifery education and regulation in Florida. She also established the Commonsense Childbirth School of Midwifery, the first nationally-accredited midwifery school owned by a Black woman in the U.S. An influential speaker and advocate, Jennie addresses systemic issues in maternal healthcare, including racism and gender discrimination, while developing training programs to diversify the maternal child health workforce. Honored as one of TIME magazine’s Women of the Year 2022, she tirelessly promotes safe, equitable care for all, emphasizing the importance of empowering women and their families in healthcare decisions.
