Brian has been in EMS since 1976, is a longtime Alaska Advanced EMS educator, and has served in multiple paid and volunteer fire/EMS services. Brian has the distinction of serving in four branches of the military and retired from a 29-year career ending with the US Air Force as a paramedic and Independent Duty Medical Technician. He then spent 15-years with overseas medical/security contracting as well as in Alaska’s oilfields. Brian has staffed directly in the Alaska State Legislature, developing and shepherding EMS legislation, successfully seeing AK Senate Bill 21 enacted into law expanding the scope of Alaska's paramedics as well as HB 57, allowing AK EMS protections from discovery for QA activities. Brian is the 2022 NAEMT Legislative EMS Advocate of Year for his work on Alaska Senate Bill 21.Brian is currently the Alaska EMS Training Manager in the Office of EMS.
