Benjamin Watson

Community Paramedic

Ketchikan Fire Dept

Description

Ben Watson was born and raised in Orlando Florida where he founded the Benji Watson Cancer Foundation after a battle with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Ben started his career in EMS in 2017 and has worked in both the hospital and pre-hospital setting. Though he enjoyed providing emergency care, Ben felt there was more work to be done after witnessing the gaps that certain patients often fall through. In early 2024, Ben moved to Ketchikan after he was hired to help start the Ketchikan Fire Department Mobile Integrated Healthcare program. Aiming to provide care and advocate for vulnerable patients whose needs are not met by the traditional healthcare model, Ben is happy with the success of the program since its launch in June of 2024.
