Barclay Stewart, MD PhD FACS is an Associate Professor of Trauma, Burns, and Critical Care Surgery at University of Washington and Associate Chief of Trauma and Burns and Pediatric Trauma Medical Director at Harborview Medical Center. Clinically, Dr. Stewart is focused on the care of children and adults with multidimensional injuries, severe burns, and those needing extracorporeal life support (ECLS/ECMO). Dr. Stewart also is the Director of the Dana C. Lynge Program for Global and Rural Surgery at UW where he runs training programs in global injury prevention and control and federally funded research initiatives in Ghana, Nepal, Ukraine, and Burkina Faso. His research has focused on resuscitation and models of trauma and burn care relevant in low-resource settings, conflict and complex humanitarian emergencies.
