Galen founded the SSIA in 2010, while an employee of VAVi Sport and Social (now part of Volo). Originally from Baltimore, MD, Galen is an undergrad and MBA graduate from Cornell University. Between these two adventures in academia, he had brief stints as a professional lacrosse player and a technology consultant. He was introduced to the world of Social Sports in 2010 as the Finance and Analytics Manager at VAVi Sport & Social. Since then, he has built relationships with hundreds of Social Sports business owners and employees and works with the Executive Committee to execute on their vision each year.
