Lina Zeldovich has written a few hundred stories and features for the Smithsonian, Reader’s Digest, National Geographic, Popular Science, AARP, Scientific American, Sierra Club, BBC, Undark and other publications, and has won about a dozen awards along the way. Her first book, “The Other Dark Matter: The Science and Business of Turning Waste into Wealth & Health” by the University of Chicago Press was published in 2021 and remained Amazon’s #1 Bestseller in the Environmental Engineering Category for almost two months. She is now working on her second book, which unveils 100 years’ worth of the science of bacteriophages—viruses that are beneficial to humans and can help fight antibiotic-resistant infections.
