Rebecca E. Hirsch is a botanist-turned-freelance writer whose goal is to ignite excitement for science in young readers. She is the author of more than 90 STEM books for kids and has written articles for Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Science News for Students, Muse, ASK, and Spider. Her newest books include Sensational Senses: Amazing Ways Animals Perceive the World, a Junior Library Guild selection; Where Have All the Birds Gone?
