Alice Fleerackers (she/her) is a doctoral candidate at Simon Fraser University's Scholarly Communications Lab, where she studies how, why, and when journalists cover preprint research. She is an award-winning researcher and a former freelance writer whose bylines include the Globe and Mail, National Post, and Nautilus Magazine. Alongside her research, Alice supports a number of science communication nonprofits, including the Science Writers and Communicators of Canada, Science Borealis, and the Public Communication of Science and Technology Network.
