Ed Mahon is an investigative reporter at Spotlight PA, an independent, nonpartisan, and nonprofit newsroom dedicated to high-quality investigative and public-service journalism about the Pennsylvania state government and urgent statewide issues. His work has been cited in legislative hearings, prompted changes in state policies, created new legal precedent in favor of transparency, and led to new academic research into Pennsylvania's medical marijuana program. His journalism has received national recognition from the Association of Health Care Journalists, the nonprofit Investigative Reporters and Editors, and other organizations. Mahon currently serves as president of the Pennsylvania Legislative Correspondents' Association, which advances free and responsible journalism while representing those reporting on Pennsylvania government from the state Capitol.
