I began my career as an agricultural extension agent in northwest Montana. Later I transitioned to the Natural Resources Conservation Service as a conservation planner in western Oregon, a rangeland management specialist in southwestern Utah and southwestern Montana, an area grazing specialist for western Montana and a regional soil health specialist in Wisconsin covering Wisconsin, Minnesota, Washington, Oregon and Alaska. In May 2021 I joined the National Center for Appropriate Technology as a regenerative grazing specialist specializing in providing education and technical assistance that improves livestock, plant and soil health.
