Director of Education
Girls Who Code
Dr. Jacqualyn Blizzard-Caron earned a PhD in Civil Engineering with a Graduate Certificate in STEM Education as a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow at Clemson University. Her engineering education research focused on developing an interdisciplinary framework for sustainable whole systems design and using metrics to understand factors (including interest in design thinking and sustainability) that may influence women and minorities to pursue STEM degrees. Since graduating, Jacqualyn has devoted her career to STEM education, starting at Google as part of the Computer Science (CS) First team where she helped to design and launch an innovative K-12 after-school program designed to provide all students an opportunity to learn to code. She has also worked with DSST Public Schools as a middle school, and as the Senior Manager of STEM & Project Based Learning. Dr. Blizzard-Caron now works as the Director of Education for Girls Who Code (GWC) Campus, designing educational experiences that work to eliminate the gender gap in tech.
