Dr. Young is Chief Executive Officer of Achieving Healthier Lifestyles, LLC, Past National President of the Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi) (2000-2001), and a Founding Member (1977) and current President of the Denver-Rocky Mountain Association of Black Psychologists. Since the founding of the Denver ABPsi Chapter,he has served as Chapter President and Treasurer (alternately) for numerous years. Additionally, Dr. Young has served the National ABPsi as Western Regional Representative (1983-84), Treasurer (1984-1985), and National Convention Committee Chair (1991). Dr. Young established the ABPsi Leadership Development Institute (LDI) while national ABPsi President and served as LDI director from 2003 to 2010. In 2011.Dr. Young completed a 5 year term as Chair and member of the Colorado Dept. of Public Health and Environment’s Minority Health Advisory Commission. Currently, Dr. Young is an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs where he teaches Forensic Psychology and the Diversity of Culture and Family graduate seminar. He is employed as the Quality Assurance Analyst for the Colorado Mental Health Institutes at Pueblo and Ft. Logan.
