Alexandra Schneiders is a Research Associate at the University College London's Energy Institute. She is currently researching the regulatory requirements for the acceptability of peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading and demand side management through blockchains. More broadly, she is interested in the interaction between industry, government and consumers within peer-to-peer platforms. Her background is in European Union law and politics, holding degrees from the University of Amsterdam and the College of Europe. Prior to taking on her role at University College London in January 2018, she worked in policy and legal consultancy in Brussels, advising clients such as the European Commission and UK energy companies.
