Natanya Meyer was born on June 7th 1983 in Johannesburg. She obtained her Bachelors and Honours degrees in Economics and Risk Management from the NWU. Thereafter she completed a Masters in Development and Management also from the same institution. She recently completed her PhD in Entrepreneurship (Focus on Female Entrepreneurship) and is currently awaiting the results from the examination process. She has more than 30 research publications (sole and co-authored) which were locally and internationally published in peer-reviewed conference proceedings and journal. Her research focus is youth employment, entrepreneurship (youth and females) and local economic development. She is an executive member of the local business chamber and custodian of the youth business chamber and student society, YEBO. She managed and owned three businesses before joining NWU in 2012.
