MD, Associate Medical Director of Primary Care
Melody Women's Health
Shannon Connolly, MD, FAAFP Reproductive health is an important element of full-spectrum care. The current health care environment in the United States has created fear and anxiety for women and their clinicians, prompted by uncertainty about availability of services, coverage for care, and access to clinicians. Education and training that build solutions for reproductive health care will help alleviate some of that uncertainty. This program is supported by a grant from the California Academy of Family Physicians Foundation. Years ago when Dr. Connolly worked in a busy family-planning clinic, she saw a lot of very underserved women struggling to make ends meet and raise their families. She knew then that she wanted to devote her career to helping patients thrive through access to good preventive care, education, and a trusted physician. Dr. Connolly went to medical school at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and finished her residency at the University of California Los Angeles Santa Monica Hospital Family Medicine. She joined Melody Women’s Health in 2013 and is currently the Associate Medical Director of Primary Care. Dr. Connolly feels that women deserve high-quality patient-centered care from a medical team committed to their unique needs. Dr. Connolly’s areas of interest include family planning, weight management, and prevention of chronic disease. In her spare time, she enjoys being a foodie, anything having to do with animals, and volleyball.
