Dr. Antoinette Basson is employed as a Research Director at the Bureau of Market Research (Pty) Ltd at the University of South Africa (Unisa). She heads the Behavioural Sciences Research Division and manages the Youth Research Unit. Since starting her career as Research Consultant at the Youth Research Unit in January 2010, Dr Basson has conducted extensive research into complex psycho-social issues impacting on the well-being of the youth, including online sexual exploitation and abuse. As a qualified psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) she places high value on quality and actionable research outcomes and has been described as a specialist researcher. Dr Basson often participates in national and international research and child protection events.
