Malcolm Mackley

University of Cambridge

Malcolm Mackley is a Cambridge University Emeritus Professor of Chemical Engineering and he has worked within the area of polymer and plastics processing for over forty years specialising in the fields of polymer rheology, innovation and new processes. During this time he has belatedly realised that the growth of single use plastics and packaging has created a global plastics pollution problem that now urgently needs to be addressed. He has spent the last two years “in the tranquillity of his retirement” researching plastic usage, recycling and reusage options and has identified major National policy inconsistencies and conflicts on how best to move forward in the field of plastics use and reuse.
