John Beane is a serial entrepreneur with 25+ years of experience building startups from conception to scale. Together these firms raised on the order of $200 million in venture capital, and have resulted in 1 IPO and 4 acquisitions returning in excess of $1.5 Billion. Mr. Beane holds 14 (and counting) US and Foreign patents for the complex hardware-software products and solutions that these companies have been based upon. He considers the mentoring and motivating of the teams that build these systems with him among his competencies and certainly among his pleasures. John is the cofounder and CEO of MemComputing, Inc. MemComputing technology boosts computer performance by thousands of times for today’s most complex optimization problems. John also participates as an Entrepreneur in Residence at UCSD, working with and advising entrepreneurs. Previously he served as VP Engineering at ecoATM. Prior to that he was cofounder & VP Strategic Product Development of Asteres, Inc., CTO and VP of R&D at CardioNow, VP Technical Services for Bridge Medical and Director of System Consulting at the Pyxis Corporation. Early career positions were held at Baxter Healthcare and XonTech, Inc. Mr. Beane was educated at the University of New Hampshire, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a Computer Science concentration and a Minor in Spanish.
