AWARDS: Building of the year 2009 Award – National prize for the reconstruction of the old thermal generation plant into an urban hotel “Ventura” in Varna Vision of Varna Competition – First prize – 2014,Velux, Bulgaria First prize for The Big Mill in Balchik Restoration project – 2016 ADA Constanta Award for Villa Sanda in Balchik Restoration, 2016 Open society Cultural award for the City sculpture “Expectation” in Varna, 2018 Vladimir Popov is a Bulgarian architect focused on the study, practice and preservation of traditional building design, construction and restauration. He is a member of various preservationist societies such as Friends of Balchik, Varna Society for Architectural and Historical Preservation, Forum of Black Sea Architects and the Varna Municipal Commitee for Protection of the Architectural Heritage. Architect Popov is a protagonist of heritage restauration initiatives in the area alongside the western coast of the Black Sea and beyond and he often runs lecture cycles and workshops on the topic. He has been on the governing body of the Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria and is an associate at INTBAU and the American Institute of Architecture. Rada Lewis is a holistic graphic artist who accompanies architect Popov on the research and communication aspects of the POHOW project.
