Alpha Sennon is a Tribagonian farmerpreneur, motivational speaker and agri-youth advocate. Alpha is the founder of WHYFARM (We Help You-th Farm) a globally recognised and award-winning nonprofit organisation established to creatively promote agriculture among children by increasing their awareness of the world’s food problems and by doing so grow the future feeders of 2050 In 2015, Alpha, discontented with the lack of growth and support for youths in the agriculture sector started a mission to reposition and rebrand the agriculture industry through his invention AGRIman - the world's first and only Superhero for food and nutrition security. AGRIman is part of a tangible on the ground engagement campaign that teaches children the importance and how they can contribute towards achieving food and nutrition security. WHYFARM has since been launched in 9 countries worldwide, including 5 countries in Africa. Educational Background Alpha is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus, Trinidad with first class honours with major Agribusiness and minors Communication-Extension and Entrepreneurship. Currently, pursuing a Master of Philosophy in Agricultural Extension at his alma mater. During his undergraduate years, he served on the executive as the Research and Student Development Officer and later as President of the Agribusiness Society of the University of the West Indies. He has also undertaken numerous international certification and training courses to further develop his knowledge in agriculture and entrepreneurship. Achievements He has received a National Youth Award in the Agriculture category by the Ministry of Gender Youth and Child Development in Trinidad and Tobago for his contribution to the agricultural sector. During last year he received an Honoree award for the inaugural 30 under 30 Caribbean American Emerging Leaders & Changemakers by the Institute of Caribbean Studies. Alpha is also an alumnus of the 2016 Young Leaders of Americas Initiative lead by his Excellency MrBarack Hussein Obama II the 44th President of the United States of America. At present, Alpha is a Specialist Business Mentor for Agriculture with the Caribbean Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Livelihoods for youths throughout the Caribbean. He also serves as Next Gen Council for the Thought for Food Global Foundation. His task as an Next Gen council is to help university students and Thought for food Ambassadors in the Caribbean develop innovative approaches to feeding the estimated 9 billion populations by 2050. Alpha has also been a keynote speaker at various international events including, TEDxAmsterdam in Amsterdam, AGTalk, a TEDtalk style in Rome hosted by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) on what's up in agriculture and by the United Nations for the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) meeting 2017 held at its headquarters. Mr Sennon currently acts as the youth focal point for SIDs DOCK and the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre.
