As a first-year PhD candidate at Linköping University, my research delves into the environmental impacts of packaging-free concepts in food retailing. By integrating qualitative and quantitative methods, I aim to comprehensively assess these systems' environmental impacts. Central to my approach is using Activity Theory as a theoretical framework to explore consumer behaviours and their interactions with packaging-free services. This theoretical framework will guide my investigation into how consumers navigate these packaging systems and the implications for sustainability. I aim to identify and develop more sustainable alternatives within food retailing, contributing to a broader understanding of sustainable consumption and circular practices.
