Dr. Bart Adams, Director Products & Innovation, has been with Luciad since 2009. He holds an MSc and Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Leuven and spent two years as a post-doctoral researcher at Stanford University before joining Luciad. He heads the Product Management & Innovation Division within the Technology Department. This division is responsible for technical sales and marketing support, product roadmap evolution, and research & innovation.
Christoph De Preter leads Hexagon Geospatial's global Direct Sales teams and is responsible for platform and project sales. As former Chief Commercial Officer for Luciad, he achieved international growth and profitability through Luciad's network of System Integrators, Luciad Certified Partners and OEM Partners. Christoph holds a B.A., J.D. and LL.M. in intellectual property from the respective Universities of Leuven, Berlin and Brussels. Christoph started his career as a PhD fellow and assistant professor at the Interdisciplinary Center for Law and Information Technology (University of Leuven). He then practiced as attorney-at-law with the international firms of Baker & McKenzie and Crowell & Moring. In addition to his leadership role at Hexagon Geospatial, he currently serves on the board of BME, a fast-growing European smart logistics company. Christoph has previously held mandates on the Boards of Directors of Luciad and AFCEA International. Christoph is a full IronMan finisher and cross-continental swimmer, having crossed the Bosphorus strait from Asia to Europe.
Dirk Schindler is responsible for coordination of product development in the Air Operations domain within Airbus. He joined the company in 2006, where he worked as a System Engineer on Mission Planning Platforms, as a Technical Leader in SESAR ATM Mission Trajectory development and as Project Lead in UTM projects. After his career as a naval officer during which, he piloted Navy Sea Lynx Helicopter(s) day and night, IFR and VFR including Deck Landing Qualification on board naval ships, he visited many foreign countries mainly in the Mediterranean Area, Africa and America finally as a Flight Commander, he trained flight deck crews in safe flight operations and during which he has been leading the National Competent Authority for Flight Deck Operations being responsible for Licencing of Flight Deck Officers, he reached his Master in Business Science at the Armed Forces University Munich, before changing to industry.
Frank Suykens is the Chief Technology Officer at Luciad. He has been leading the development, roadmap and strategy of Luciad Products for over 10 years and is responsible for all research at Luciad. Prior to joining Luciad in 2003, Frank was R&D Engineer at Barco and held positions of Researcher and Postdoctoral associate at the Computer Graphics Research group at the University of Leuven. Frank obtained a M.Sc. in Engineering at the University of Leuven in 1995, and a Ph.D. in Engineering at the same university in 2002.
Working in the Geospatial domain for 15 years, Frédéric Houbie is Senior Product Manager in the Product Management & Innovation team where he leads involvement of product into R&D projects and Standardisation. Involved in standardization for more than 10 years, Frédéric Houbie has contributed for Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) in multiple standards defining Geospatial Web Services, Data and Metadata models. He has participated to ISO TC 211 normalization and has joined multiple working groups of experts for the INSPIRE regulation. Since 2010, he has a seat at the OGC Architecture Board. He participates in Defence standardisation at the DGIWG as an OGC Liaison.
Georg Hammerer sets the technical direction for Hexagon Geospatial, leading the Research & Development, Licensing, and Customer Support efforts worldwide. In addition to Operations experience, he was the Product Line Director for Intergraph’s geospatial server products and Managing Director of Intergraph Austria. Before that, he was the development lead for GeoMedia Smart Client. Georg greatly enjoys spending time with his family, and often skis the slopes with his wife and two boys, a skill he says is mandatory for all Austrians. He also plays beach volleyball whenever he can. Georg says being one of the oldest players in his league doesn’t stop him from regularly acing opponents.
Glenn Croes holds a MSc in Computer Science from the University of Leuven. Besides developing and maintaining the LuciadRIA and LuciadLightspeed products, he takes on the role of technical project lead for Luciad's contributions in the MARISA Horizon 2020 project. Glenn has also developed an award-winning application for the SESAR SWIM Masterclass.
Irmgard Runkel is the Managing Director of GEOSYSTEMS Germany, one of the oldest, but very active and committed partners of Hexagon Geospatial. As Master of Geography of the University of Munich, she started her career as academic teacher and scientist at the Technical University of Berlin. Shortly after the reunification she took the challenge to introduce and establish a GIS for soil protection for the State Office of Environment of the Federal State of Brandenburg. As international GIS and remote sensing consultant for the United Nations she had the chance to work on great places like Fiji Islands, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Bhutan. She joined the board of Managing Director at 1998 – meanwhile she is responsible for GEOSYSTEMS as shareholder and CEO.
Marc Melviez joined Hexagon Geospatial in 2017 and is responsible for designing and implementing strategic projects. Previously, Marc was the Group CEO for Luciad. He holds a master’s degree in business engineering from the Solvay Brussels School. His career started at KPMG, where he was a financial auditor, and at Management Science America (MSA), where he was software applications specialist. He later created and managed several software companies, which he drove to fast growth and high profitability. In addition to his leadership role at Hexagon Geospatial, he serves on the boards of IDDI and its subsidiary, Cluepoints, as well as W.IN.G (Wallonia Innovation and Growth) by Digital Wallonia, an organization that helps evaluate and fund promising digital start-ups in the French-speaking region of Belgium. Marc is also an experienced instrument-rated pilot qualified on high performance aircraft.
Marek has over 20 years of Geospatial Industry experience. Twelve years ago he joined intergraph and now continues his career with Hexagon Geospatial. Marek likes to architect comprehensive, streamlined GIS Systems and his specialities include architecting both logical and physical GIS Systems, deep requirements analysis, business analysis, functional analysis of use cases and building domain models. With strong analytical and project management skills, he leads a large core WEBGIS development team in Poland. In his spare time, Marek likes to ski, read books and enjoys travelling with his family.
Massimo Zotti has a Degree in Economics at the Università degli Studi di Bari. He specializes in GIS and Remote Sensing at Geography Department of the University of Nantes (France). He has produced several publications in the field of Geographic Information Systems publishing on the web.
Mladen has over 20 years of combined experience across Hexagon companies. During his career, Mladen has held senior leadership positions at Leica Geosystems, Intergraph, and now Hexagon Geospatial. As the President of Hexagon Geospatial, Mladen leads all areas of the business, ensuring a positive customer experience from development and product management to customer support, marketing, and sales. His overarching goal is to lead the company and the industry into a new era of innovation. In his free time, he likes to ski and play soccer.
