Public private partnerships (PPP) in the PNG health sector fill a significant gap in health service delivery that the Government cannot provide and this research focused on maternal health. Therefore, the main aim of this research was to identify challenges, opportunities and lessons learnt in implementing the Health Sector Partnership Policy for better health service delivery. The research found that maternal health still remains a challenge for many partners and National Department of Health. It was concluded that the policy has not been fully implemented and will take more time; therefore, it is too early to learn any major lessons.
